Te Ahi Wairua o Kaikōura Charitable Trust (TAWK) is a Whare Oranga of whānau, hapū, and kāinga ora takiwā-focused services. Our mission and intent are centred on the enhancement and well-being of whānau. We have a distinctive, wānanga-centric, whānau-led approach that targets authentic and influential engagement within whānau Māori and hapori, ensuring direct responsiveness and inclusiveness.

Our aim is to increase the level of cultural prosperity and social wealth within whānau, hapū, iwi, and hapori by providing platforms that support whānau aspirations and ensure a continuum of care that is mana-enhancing, relevant, and practical.

TAWK utilizes the symbolism of the pā construct as a medium to fortify the growth, prosperity, and hauora of whānau through tikanga that does not constrain, in kawa that is jointly subscribed, within environments that nurture identity and grow capacity.
